What To Bring

We provide all sewing machines and also supply all materials and fabric for classes unless stated. You are welcome to bring along your own sewing machine if you like and if you have some fabric that you would particularly like to use, please feel free to bring it along. All meterage for classes that require you to bring along your own fabric are specified below.

Fabric Tips: Buying & Preparing

1. Fabric is generally sold in two standard widths; 140cm (wide width) or 115cm (narrow width). Measurements specified below for each individual class are important to follow to ensure you have enough.

2. Please ensure you wash your fabric prior to the class so as to pre-shrink and prepare the material.

3. Some fabrics are fine to be machine washed on 30 degrees although some may need specific washing instructions. Please check with the fabric shop when you purchase. If you have any concerns, please just call or email us.

4. Please keep in mind that plain fabrics or tightly patterned fabrics are easier to match up when stitching together. Big patterns, checks or stripes are trickier to match up at the seams so if this is your first project, we recommend going for the simpler option and then progress to a trickier print.

5. We have a very limited selection of fabrics available at our studio to purchase if you can not make it to a supplier.
